AI CAMERA The state motor vehicle department made the AI camera system operational last week as part of the Safe Kerala drive aimed at preventing road accidents and detecting traffic crimes using modern technology. Under the project, the department deployed 726 AI-enabled cameras across various highways in the state. The installations include 675 cameras which will detect offences such as failure to wear helmets and seat belts and instances of hit-and-run, 25 to spot unauthorised parking, 18 to capture visuals of vehicles jumping traffic signals, and eight to monitor speeding .
